– Beurer BF 700[:en]Do you want to measure your lean body mass or your body fat? There is an economic balance that can do to your doorstep! – Beurer BF 700[:]

[:en]After purchasing the fitness tracker Xiaomi Mi band 1S to monitor my daily activities (the number of daily steps, the number of pulses during training sessions), only to evaluate the weight oscillations began to be not enough. I needed some more parameter than could provide me the evidence of the effects of sweating in the gym or mountain tours with my MTB. I needed to know how change lean mass and fat mass in relation to what I eat and what I practice. So I started looking for a more technological balance respect to my 10 € chinese balance, that could properly value my efforts.

After the suggestion of a friend, I begin to study the Beurer BF 700. Casually, the day after I had been studying it, Amazon puts it off at less than 45 Euros … Occasion was too good to be missed! 😆

Accompanied by a specific app, that stores all (or most) of the measurement data, lean and fat mass are just some of the information that this balance can manage:

  • Weight
  • IMC (or BMI) – Body Mass Index
  • body fat percentage
  • percentage of water
  • muscle percentage
  • bone weight
  • BMR – Basal Metabolic Rate – indicates the calories burned by the body at rest – (is showed on the balance display, but not saved on the app)
  • AMR – Active Metabolic Rate – the total number of calories burned and depends on the style of life (is showed on the balance display, but not saved on the app)

The app Beurer HealthManager can be configured easily by following the instructions (you lose less than 3 minutes). Unfortunately, the app does not save BMR and AMR, but by connecting the smartphone to the balance (just throw the app when you step on the balance), are saved on the app all the other parameters of the “weighted”, with all historical measurements.

It ‘also possible to keep track of the medicines taken through a special section.

There is also an information section that shows what are the values that the various parameters should accept, based on gender and age of the user.

The balance is also able to recognize up to 8 different users. Clearly, every person who uses the balance must have a smartphone and will have to set up a personal profile.

I do not expect that all data provided from the scale are 100% accurate, but I think it is a good alternative, faster and more economical than a visit from a professional.

Here is the link to Amazon to purchase it and some pictures of the baalance in action:
